We have been learning to solve math problems using a strategy called C.U.B.E.
We are going to add to this strategy and change the B/E and add an S. See the links below. CUBES VIDEO www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4993xqdmQA

Students will be learning different strategies to add. They will also be working on problem solving strategies (using pictures, numbers, and words) to answer questions. Students will be bringing home all class work completed in term 1. MEASUREMENT
We will have a perimeter and area test this Friday. Practice pages have been sent home with all students this week to use to review material prior to the test. Please see below for more material that you may wish to use. msgordonadm.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/2/0/112063009/area_and_perimeter_practice_3.pdf msgordonadm.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/2/0/112063009/area_and_perimeter_practice_2.pdf msgordonadm.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/2/0/112063009/area_perimeter_practice_1_2_sided.pdf We will have a temperature/calendar Quiz on Friday January 31st. I know what temperature water freezes at. I know what temperature water boils at. I know bench mark temperatures for a snowy day, a warm day, or a hot day, I know how many days are in a week and how many months are in a year. I can find a date or day on a calendar. I can use a calendar to problem solve. I can find a temperature on a thermometer (we've been practising everyday!) We are beginning our Measurement unit! Our focus at this time will be learning about Linear Measurement , Perimeter and Area and Temperature. - estimate, measure and record length, perimeter, area, and temperature using standard units - compare, describe and order objects, using attributes measured in standard units I know the differences between cm, m, and km. I can choose the unit to measure that makes sense. PATTERNING PRACTISE Click Link - 3_patterning_review.pdf
Patterning Quiz Monday Dec. 16
We are learning about patterns and relationships. I can describe, extend and create a variety of numeric patterns and geometric patterns (3m65, 3m66,. 3m67, 3m68, 3m69, 3m70).
DATA MANAGEMENT QUIZ ON THURS. NOV. 28.
We are learning to collect, organize and read data. I can collect data and organize it by category. I can display data using charts. I can display data using graphs. I can create a bar graphs with the correct scale, labels, and title. I can read, describe and interpret primary data presented in charts and graphs. We will be having a Place Value Test on Friday, October 25 Students should review skills on the IXL program and may wish to review this study guide prior to test day. LEARNING GOALS AND SUCCESS CRITERIA We are learning to read, represent, compare, and order whole numbers to 100.
